Sergio originated the idea and leads the vision, commercial strategy, product direction, fundraising and go-to-market. He is a management consultant with fourteen years advising senior executives on complex transformations across utilities, banking and finance, and consumer goods, at leading global consulting firms and, more recently, in New Zealand. Much of his recent work centres on AI: advising organisations on where and how to apply it well, which is the exact judgement DateSmarter is built on, that the value is not the model but knowing where to point it. His core expertise is the thing most startups die on: closing the gap between a strategy and its execution.

Hector Magana
Co-founder
Hector is an Engineering Team Lead at Xero, one of New Zealand's flagship global software companies, where he leads teams shipping production software at scale. For DateSmarter he has personally built and shipped the entire product: a full cross-platform dating app with an AI conversation engine woven into the chat, running on enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure. This is a working system built by someone who ships at scale for a living, not a thin layer on top of someone else's tool. He leads the AI engine, the architecture and the data.
